Shipping policy

We work with clients anywhere in the US. Local clients drop their flowers off at our West Bloomfield, Michigan studio and collect the finished piece in person. Clients outside the area ship their flowers to us, and choose shipping at checkout so we can send the finished piece back to them.

If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the outside of the box, the shipping label, the packing as you found it and your piece, email us at hello@preservemypetals.com within 48 hours of delivery, and keep the box and packing until we've sorted it out together. If the frame, glass or backing is damaged but your flowers are fine, we repair or replace it and cover the shipping both ways. If your flowers were damaged, we'll offer a partial refund or a replacement made with flowers of the same kind, since the originals can't be recreated.

Drop-off is at our West Bloomfield, Michigan studio, on the Monday following your event, between 7am and 7pm. There is a dropbox on the front porch with instructions, so you do not need to arrange a time with anyone. We email you the address and full care instructions when you book.

Collection is by arrangement. We email you when your piece is finished, and you have one month to collect it. See our Terms of Service.

If you are shipping flowers to us, you choose the carrier and buy the label yourself. We do not buy it for you, and there is a good reason. We cannot see your bouquet, so we cannot know what size box it needs. You can. You will get a better price choosing your own box than we can get guessing. We send you packing guidance before you ship.

If you are coming from Canada, you will need to declare your flowers at the border, where they will be inspected. Please email us before you travel and we will send you what to know.

Why shipping a finished piece is not cheap. Every framed piece we make is behind glass. The real cost is not the postage. It is the double boxing, the corner protection, and insuring a piece that cannot be remade if it breaks, because the flowers no longer exist.

Timing. Drying alone takes 2 to 4 months depending on the flowers, and most pieces are complete in about six months.
